eVTOL and advanced air mobility
Certification support for vertical take-off and landing aircraft and the UAS that precede them, with experts who have worked on the first special conditions.
What we do
SC-VTOL certification basis
The special condition tailored to the aircraft: the category, the safety objectives and the means of compliance published by EASA, with the gaps the programme has to close.
Means of compliance proposals
Proposed means of compliance where no published MoC exists, structured as the DVR guidelines and the MoC documents expect.
SC Light-UAS, DVR and the type certificate route
For unmanned platforms, the SC Light-UAS route: the design verification report application data at SAIL IV, and the Part 21 type certificate that SAIL V and VI require.
FAA powered-lift route
The airworthiness criteria and the operational integration on the FAA side, for programmes that plan a validation.
Standards
- SC-VTOL-02 Issue 2 and MOC SC-VTOL Issues 1 to 3, EASA, 2024 and 2022 to 2025
- SC Light-UAS Medium and High Risk, MOC Light-UAS, EASA
- FAA powered-lift airworthiness criteria and integration rule, Federal Register, 2024
How an engagement runs
An engagement starts with a scoping call and a written proposal that names the deliverables, the standards and the people. Work runs in your tools and your document system, with a weekly status and a single point of contact. Findings and authority correspondence are handled with you, never for you.
Questions
- Enhanced or basic category?
- The category follows the intended operation; we help you argue it with the authority early, because it drives the safety objectives.
- Can you support a design verification report application?
- Yes, including the compliance matrix and the test evidence plan the DVR guidelines require. A DVR covers SAIL IV and the limited cases where M2 or containment is claimed at high robustness; SAIL V and VI need a type certificate instead.
- Do you cover batteries and electric propulsion?
- At the certification basis and means of compliance level, yes; detailed cell testing is scoped with a test house.
- Do you work with the FAA on powered-lift?
- Yes, for validation planning and the airworthiness criteria published in the Federal Register.
