Lavionic UAS Class and Energy Checker

Enter the mass, size and speed of your unmanned aircraft and what it can do. The checker shows the impact energy, the numeric limits of the classes C0 to C6 it meets, and the open category subcategories A1, A2 and A3 that follow.

v0.3.1 · 2026-10-23 · HTML · works offline

What you enter

  • The maximum take-off mass, the largest dimension and the maximum speed in level flight.
  • The kind of UA: multirotor, fixed wing, helicopter or other.
  • What it has: electric power only, a height limit, a low-speed mode of 3 m/s or 5 m/s, automatic flight modes, or a private build.
  • The impact speed: the maximum speed, or the terminal velocity in a free fall.

What you get

  • The impact energy, against the 80 J limit of class C1, on an energy bar.
  • A class matrix: each limit of the classes C0 to C6, met or not met.
  • The open category subcategories A1, A2 and A3: possible or not, and with which class label. If the open category is not possible, the note to use the specific category.
  • An edit panel: change one value and the result follows at once.

Online or offline

Use it online in your browser, or download it once as one HTML file. The file opens in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, works without an internet connection and sends no data anywhere.

A class label comes only from the manufacturer's conformity assessment. The checker reads the numbers only, and is no part of that assessment.

The checker is an aid, not a means of compliance.
